Jessica Lower graduated in 1994 from the Southern College of Seventh-day Adventists (now Southern Adventist University) in Collegedale, Tennessee, with a bachelor’s degree in English. She taught eighth-grade language arts and reading for seven years. During that same period, she also taught several semesters of high school English as an adjunct instructor at Forest Lake Academy. In 2001, she earned her master’s degree in English education from the University of Central Florida. That same year, after the birth of her first child, she became an adjunct professor at ADU, where she continues to teach English composition classes both on campus and online. She has a passion for writing, which she doesn’t always have time to fulfill, but she was a fellow of the 2000 Central Florida Writing Project Summer Institute and has published a couple of short stories and a children’s book.
