Kathryn Kuntz is an adjunct faculty member for the department of Diagnostic Medical Sonography at ADU, where she has taught for the past six years. In addition to teaching at ADU, she is an assistant clinical professor at the University of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. Prior to her adjunct appointment, she was the program director at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, where she was a lead sonographer, program director, and assistant professor for more than 30 years. She earned a master’s degree in adult education from the University of Minnesota. Kuntz has written articles published in the Journal of Diagnostic Medical Sonography, and is co-author and editor of the textbook A Clinical Guide to Ultrasonography, 2nd Edition. She serves the Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (SDMS) as past president of the board of directors and past president of the SDMS Foundation board of directors. Some of her goals for students in the online sonography degree program include helping sonographers apply the knowledge of course material to their careers. Kuntz also owns a consulting business (SEAC, Inc), which is devoted to assisting sonography programs in achieving programmatic accreditation — a passion she has maintained throughout her 35-plus year career.
