Charlotte Henningsen is the Chair of the Diagnostic Medical Sonography Department at Adventist University of Health Sciences (formerly known as Florida Hospital College of Health Sciences) where she has taught since 1992. Charlotte has been a sonographer for approximately 30 years and continues to practice as a preceptor to emergency medicine residents. She is currently the Immediate Past President of the Board of Directors for the Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (SDMS) and is the President of the SDMS Foundation. Charlotte also has authored several articles published in the Journal of Diagnostic Medical Sonography, has written several chapters in textbooks, and is the author of the Clinical Guide to Ultrasonography. She chaired the task force that developed the National Education Curriculum for Sonography and is on the Education Committee of the Perinatal Quality Foundation(PQF) She is a member of the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine(AIUM) Clinical Standards Committee, a site visitor for the Joint Review Committee on Education in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (JRC-DMS), and is on the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) Exam Development Task Force as a subject matter expert in neurosonology.
